HobbyVisions International Show
October 7-10 at the Sands Expo Center/Venetian Las Vegas
John Billig will be building three amazing
tracks for public testing of R/C cars at HobbyVisions. The
tracks will photo well for show pictures and promotional pictures
for future HobbyVisions shows. TV Celebrity, Chris Chianelli
will be on hand to video with many of the fantastic new R/C
cars.
Kyosho Japan is the major sponsor of the HobbyVisions Track
built by John Billig of RCP Tracks.
Hot Wheels will have a spectacular booth with the 40 ft. Hot
Wheels Motor Coach, West Coast Customs Escalade and full size
Beach Bomb II created by the legendary George Barris (Batmobile,
Munster Coach, Green Hornet fame). Larry Wood will be signing
autographs and giving away his limited edition tour car on
Saturday.
Great Planes will be hosting a private showroom for the trade
only.
Hobbytown USA will sponsor the retail store and assist in
getting hobby products into the hands of many new consumers.
The new T.O.C., Totally Outrageous Challenge, will be a 6
or 7 hour Air Show, on Sunday, October 10th, starting at 10am.
This Air Show will be held at Bill Bennett Field, site of
previous TOCs, and will be a series of “Performances”
to show the consumer what the exciting world of RC is all
about. Pilots affiliated with companies exhibiting at the
HobbyVisions Show, are entitled to display his or their company
flying machines one or more times throughout the day. There
will be demonstrations that are unusual and exciting. 3D Aerobatics,
Combat and Turbine Jet displays come to mind. There is a full
service PA System and Walt Throne will once again be the announcer.
In addition to the flying entertainment, music, food and great
weather will make this event a must for the entire family!
The TOC is made possible by the coordinated efforts of Top
Gun's Frank Tiano, NRHSA's Bill Rickard and the Las Vegas
Radio Control Club.
Hobo Junction Model Railroad Demonstrations:
There are twelve modular layouts planned. This railroad demo
featuring all gauges and scales are made possible through
Hobo Junction director and NRHSA president, Mike Wenig. Very
unique layouts from Al Vierick, Bob Obert and Jan Wescott,
will highlight the best in the West for model railroad enthusiasts
and sellers.
Make-N-Take coordinator, Tom Grossman will conduct the MNT
on Saturday & Sunday 11 to 3 PM. The event is sponsored
by IPMS/Las Vegas, Iwata/Medea and Model Master. Pick up kits
and awards are Sunday. Tom is also running a model contest.
International HobbyCraft will host the International Visitors
Center on the exhibition floor on Thursday and Friday (same
location as last year), booth 900/1000.
On Saturday and Sunday the International Visitors Center/Lounge
will be
located in room 305.
e-Bay will host a series of seminars at HobbyVisions for retailers
and manufacturers.
The International Model Manufacturers Association (IMMA) will
conduct it's annual membership meeting on Saturday, October
9 at a designated seminar room.
HobbyVisions' management has once again invited all the servicemen
and their families at nearby Nellis Airforce Base to HobbyVisions
for free.
Celebrities, Kato Kaelin and Chris Chianelli will be featured
in many planned TV, radio and newspaper media spots promoting
model hobbies and the HobbyVisions "vision", promoting
our industry to the world.
There will be a model rocket make n' take conducted on Saturday
& Sunday public days.
Slot car companies, Wizzard, Carrera and Scalextrics will
feature tracks, races and various interactive events.
HobbyVisions management is in negotiations with both the Sands/Venetian
and Mandalay Bay for the 2005 show. There is also the possibility
of the show dates moving to September.
Resort rooms at the show hotels The Venetian, Harrahs, Rio,
Palace Station and New Frontier are filling fast and the room
blocks will soon expire. Please make your reservations ASAP.
